Multi-site SMEs: an IT organisation that stays clear as you grow.

Each site has its own habits and constraints. Management needs a shared view of tools, responsibilities and priorities. Skill Group supports this organisation so that day-to-day coordination does not rest on a few key people.

Know what exists, site by site.

Equipment, users, software, internet access and contracts may have evolved separately. A shared inventory helps you understand the differences and dependencies. The aim is not to impose an identical configuration everywhere, but to know why a difference exists and who is responsible for it.

Are you opening a new site? See our multi-site project approach.

Give your teams a known point of entry.

Staff should not have to work out which supplier to call depending on the equipment that has failed. The user support scope defines the channels, the information to provide and who takes over when an incident involves a third party.

It can complement your local resources or your central IT team. Service hours and on-site intervention arrangements are agreed site by site.

Organise accounts and shared tools.

Creating a user, changing their role or handling their departure must be coordinated with the access they hold. Shared documents and applications need rules that teams can understand.

Microsoft 365 support, where relevant, fits into this overall organisation. It does not replace a review of other applications and their access rights.

Make connections serve the exchanges you need.

Applications may be centralised, available online or specific to one site. Networks and interconnections are designed from these uses. The architecture must also take into account the connections available locally and the consequences of an outage.

Give management a workable roadmap.

Governance also covers contract end dates, equipment due for renewal and projects to prepare. Support from an outsourced CIO can help prioritise decisions and organise coordination.

The information needed for monitoring is defined with you: recurring requests, differences between sites, pending actions or dependencies to address.

A model that fits where you operate.

Skill Group's roots in Brittany do not limit this approach to businesses in the region. Projects across France and international coordination needs are studied according to the locations and resources required.

To get started, tell us your locations, your current IT organisation and the decisions that are becoming hard to coordinate. You can start with a limited scope before extending support.

Your questions

Do we need the same hardware on every site?

Not always. A common standard can coexist with equipment adapted to local job roles and constraints.

Does this support replace a site opening project?

No. It mainly covers day-to-day operations and long-term governance; an opening has its own project schedule.

Can you work with a central team already in place?

Yes, the split of roles and rights is defined with that team. The aim is to complement its organisation.

Got a digital issue? You don’t have to work out who should handle it.

Describe your situation in your own words. The Skill Group team will get back to you to talk it through.
