Hospitality and tourism: technology that supports how you welcome guests.
At the front desk, every interruption shows. A booking to find, a call to answer, a guest who cannot get online: your teams need tools they can rely on and that work together. Skill Group helps you coordinate IT, connectivity and telephony around the way your establishment runs.
Protect the time you spend with your guests.
Needs vary between reception, offices, common areas and guest accommodation. They also change with occupancy, events and the season. Before choosing any equipment, we look at the situations where your teams lose time: opening a guest record, a call transferred to the wrong department, a connection problem that is hard to pinpoint.
The first aim is to separate what is essential to running the business from the convenience services offered to guests. The scope may cover an independent hotel, a holiday residence or several establishments.
Wi-Fi designed around your spaces and how busy they get.
Good coverage at reception tells you nothing about a distant room or a meeting room in use by a group. The professional Wi-Fi study takes into account the areas to cover, obstacles, equipment and simultaneous use.
Guest access and staff access must be organised under appropriate rules. Requirements for public access, confidentiality and operations are defined with the right people before any set-up is chosen.
Connect booking, reception and telephony.
Booking software, a hotel management system and a phone system each have their own dependencies. We identify the software vendors and who is responsible for what, so that checks can be coordinated. Any link between these tools must be studied with the suppliers concerned; it is not assumed to be built in.
Business telephony can be organised around opening hours, departments and the people actually available, so that call answering and transfer routes can be prepared.
Prepare for your busiest periods.
Before a season or an opening, it helps to check reception workstations, support contacts and planned work. The project sets out the intervention windows, tests with your teams and how service will be restored if a problem occurs.
Business internet access should also be chosen according to the consequences of an outage. A backup solution can be studied, along with its limits and the services that genuinely need to keep running.
Support that respects how you are organised.
Day-to-day support, staff accounts and changes to your IT estate can be included in a managed IT services scope defined with you. The service should not depend on a single person who knows every setting. Useful information and escalation procedures remain accessible to authorised contacts.
Where your project starts.
Tell us the type of establishment, the number of buildings, the areas where the connection is a problem and the tools used at reception. Add your busiest period or your opening date. This information lets us prepare a targeted study without asking for any guest data.
Your questions
Can you take over an establishment that is already equipped?
The condition of the equipment, how it is managed and the available documentation are reviewed before deciding what can be kept.
Should guest Wi-Fi work the same way as the internal network?
The needs and the access are different. The set-up should be studied with the establishment's managers.
Do we need to change our hotel software?
Not necessarily. Support can focus on the surrounding environment and coordination with your current software vendor.
Got a digital issue? You don’t have to work out who should handle it.
Describe your situation in your own words. The Skill Group team will get back to you to talk it through.
